Is it possible to tell dreams? Let's find out!
Is it possible to tell dreams?
Let's figure it out now. Since the time when humanity appeared, people, when they sleep, see different pictures and events. These phenomena are usually called dreams. People have long wondered what their visions mean. Where do they come from? Do they come true? What to expect from them? And is it possible to tell dreams? The technology of dream interpretation is not complicated, as it may seem at first glance.
And before you understand it for yourself, it’s worth remembering one simple rule: to better remember your dreams, you need to change your headboard weekly. In other words, every seven days you need to arrange the head of the bed on the side of the bed where you put your feet for the past seven days. But is it worth telling everyone what you saw at night? If you have a person whom you trust as much as yourself, and you really want to share, then you need to tell the dream immediately! And it doesn't matter whether he was good or bad. As the sorcerers say in such cases, if the dream is good, and you told it to a loved one, then the likelihood that it will come true increases several times. And vice versa, if the vision is bad, and the person told it to his loved one, then the likelihood that it will come true becomes much less.
What psychologists say
Dreams worry people because... Things happen in dreams that may not happen in real life. The meaning and understanding of this phenomenon has changed as science has developed. Therefore, the topic should be considered from a psychological aspect, what to do to prevent a bad dream from coming true.
Dream as a reflection of reality
A nightmare can occur for a variety of reasons, both against the background of difficult experiences, and because a person ate heavily at night. The psycho-emotional sphere is the domain of psychologists. From a psychological point of view, an effective way to forget about fear is to tell it.
Therefore, it is best to go to a psychoanalyst, who will listen carefully and explain why this could be a dream. A specialist will help you cope with your depressed mood after a nightmare.
Any system that is closed on itself is doomed to self-destruction, this also applies to the human psyche. For impressionable and suspicious people, their own bad dreams are an excellent breeding ground for the rapid growth of all sorts of fears. Therefore, negativity needs to be poured out to avoid accumulation. If this is not done, then a nervous breakdown or severe depression becomes a matter of time. Self-hypnosis will lead to an increased likelihood of making a mistake - and then what you saw in a nightmare may come true.
From the point of view of psychologists, it is possible and necessary to tell bad dreams. The main condition is that you need to talk about such subtle matters only with someone who:
- close enough;
- I agree to listen.
“If only a good person was caught” is precisely about this situation.
Speaking out in front of those who do not want to listen does not mean getting rid of negativity, but increasing it.
Dreams on Monday night
They say that dreams seen from Sunday to Monday come true. It is unknown where such rumors came from. Professionals in this field insist that these dreams mean nothing.
They are empty and do not lead to any underlying reason. But those who are actively involved in the science of night visions seriously say that when they hear from people that dreams come true from Sunday to Monday, they mistake them for naive fools who believe rumors. In fact, dreams that a person sees from Friday to Saturday have a high probability of becoming reality. At least that's what the professionals say.
What is better to remain silent about?
If you are telling fortunes for Christmas and have a vivid dream, you should not talk about it. Especially if you dreamed of a wedding, you remember the face of the groom or some event that may be frightening, alarming or seem unusual.
If you had a dream on Monday night, you should also remain silent about it. At this time, either the prospects for the month are revealed, or the negativity accumulated over the years goes away.
Therefore, dreams occurring at this time can carry negative information and lead to unpleasant consequences for a person’s personality.
On Tuesday night, you may dream of stories warning of danger, people who are angry with you or remembering. It is better not to tell anyone the terrible images that you dreamed about at this time.
Dreams that come on Wednesday night indicate what will happen, but will go away with time. Usually these visions are fulfilled before lunch or during the day.
On Thursday night, dreams do not come true or carry negativity. It’s not worth interpreting them and telling them to someone unless it’s a prophetic night picture.
On Friday night, you often dream about stories with meaning, but you need to tell only those that you remember and can literally come true.
Sometimes at this time you dream of stories with negative or erotic overtones. It’s not always worth telling them.
On Saturday, prophetic pictures are extremely rare. Dreams can bring confusion into people's lives, inducing negative thoughts, melancholy and sadness. It’s better not to tell them to anyone, just like erotic night paintings.
And on Sunday, prophetic plots are performed only before lunch. They can be told if they are pleasant and do not carry any negativity.
Prophetic dreams
Visions repeated two or three times are very significant. Often they are equated to prophetic dreams. That is, those that are more likely to come true. Most dreams come true between the next day and nine months. Dreams that occur during lunar eclipses are prophetic. And those that you or someone else saw from three o’clock in the morning until dawn will come true almost with lightning speed.
Answer: definitely not! Neither bad visions at night nor those that visit you during the day should be trusted, especially not to very close people. As a rule, such visions do not come true.
Dreams about friends
Here's what to do if you only dream about something bad for a long time and not at all about a loved one, but simply, for example, about an acquaintance who should definitely find out about him, since his future fate may depend on this ?! Of course, if you definitely feel that the dream needs to be told to someone, then it is better to do so. Especially if it concerns friends or relatives. After all, often in dreams people see events and moments that are about to happen. And there are a huge number of cases where dreams literally saved people’s lives. Indeed, during night wanderings you can see so-called hints, warnings for the future. By heeding these signs, people often avoided trouble.
Prophetic dream or not
Dreams with meaning are quite rare.
Usually they are immediately remembered and performed, regardless of whether you talk about them or not. Is it possible to talk about bad dreams to your loved ones to prevent trouble? In some cases, this helps save their life, but quite often frightening stories are dreamed either when a negative event has already happened, but you know nothing about it, or if nothing can be done. Bad dreams can and should be told when:
But there are dreams that are worth keeping silent about. Most often these are night pictures of erotic content, which can frighten or evoke negative emotions, but are not prophetic in the literal sense, good dreams that can come true.
If you tell them, you may miss a happy occasion, although prophetic dreams almost always come true, regardless of whether others know about it or not. Usually a person sees such night pictures suddenly, and they leave a mark on his soul.
If you dreamed of something bad or dangerous, it is better not to remain silent about it, as you can prevent misfortune or significantly reduce its negative consequences and harm.
Is it possible to tell dreams?
You may have previously come across a lot of conflicting advice about whether to tell a dream and how this affects its manifestation in reality.
Good dream
Most esotericists and dream books advise not to tell anyone your good dreams. It is believed that other people's envy (even unconscious or weak) can spoil the image, and therefore it cannot be translated into reality.
Instead of sharing your cherished dream with others, esotericists recommend telling it to yourself. Mentally or out loud (alone, of course) repeat the key moments of the dream. Try to remember it in every detail, and best of all, write it down and store it in a safe place. From time to time this note can and should be re-read.
It is believed that these actions will help the Universe focus its forces on the fulfillment of your desire. But most likely the reason lies precisely in the fact that you consciously and in detail see your dream, and this gives strength and motivation to move towards it.
If the dream was good, but you don’t want it to come true, then you can tell it to someone in your social circle, and at any time of the day. But avoid people who don’t like you - a dream can be a hint about what is important to you, what worries you. An angry or vindictive person could use this information to harm you.
But there is also the opposite opinion. If you want your dream to come true, you must tell it to a member of your household or a friend. Moreover, this must be done before noon - apparently, while sleep still has sufficient strength and has not dissipated. Verbal reinforcement in the real world should supposedly help the dream come true.
Dream Interpretation: why a woman or man dreams
For many primitive peoples, talking about their dreams is an important event of the day. Often everything that happens during the day is determined by the content of the dreams of the previous night. But in our society, dreams and stories about them will not give you a place on the podium. Therefore, you yourself need to find ways to be listened to. Many people create dream groups for themselves, while others prefer to share their dreams with close friends or lovers.
How to share your dreams?
There are also people who believe that dreams should either be kept to themselves or shared only with a doctor. This is probably partly due to the Freudian assertion that our dreams contain dangerous impulses that can embarrass polite society.
How to correctly talk about your dream?
So you've decided that you want to talk about your dreams. But if you have disturbing dreams about your mother, you may not want to call her and tell her about it. And if you had an erotic dream about your neighbor, you will not feel comfortable telling your partner about it and, perhaps, you will not exclaim when meeting this neighbor: “You know what I dreamed about you!”
Well, who should you talk to? Honestly, it's best if you share your dreams with people you trust, who can keep secrets, who see meaning in your dreams, and who will listen with interest.
We know that there is a group of friends who go for a walk together every morning before work. They've been doing this for five years straight. Half asleep, they talk about their dreams from the previous night in much the same way that members of other friendship groups talk to each other about what they did on Saturday afternoon. However, members of this group talk about what they "did" the previous night in their dreams.
How to listen to other people's dreams correctly?
We are all taught that it is important to get straight A's in school, to write a brilliant contract, to give a witty speech at dinner. And when we begin to explore our dreams, this habit of doing everything as best as possible works. We hate to think that our dreams seem meaningless or stupid. We imagine that others have much better dreams, and therefore, try not to compare your dreams with the dreams of other people.
Forget about what your luckier, smarter, and prettier employee sees in her dreams. In reality, you don’t know what’s going on in the depths of another person’s soul, and even if you do, you have to deal with your own soul. So do it. Get on with your life and know that there are no right or wrong dreams, good or bad. Sad dreams and dreams of loss may be unpleasant, but this does not mean that they are “bad” or “wrong.”
Likewise, dreams about sports cars and expensive champagne are not “right” or “good.” (Of course they are very funny). If you cannot understand your dreams, this does not mean that they are worse than those dreams whose meaning is clear and understandable.
Creating a group of dreamers
Let's say you decide that you will no longer tell your dreams to your friend because his dreams are always more interesting than yours. Perhaps another friend of yours is always talking about your dreams as harbingers of death. It's time to think about separating from them.
Ways to create a group of dreamers
There are many ways to create dream groups. First of all, you must decide whether you are one of the people who feels comfortable in such groups and which group is right for you.
1.
Do you prefer intense one-on-one communication?
2.
Or do you need other partners?
3.
Do you prefer to share your dreams with your doctor - and only with him?
4.
Do you enjoy meeting your work colleagues after work?
4.
Or does the thought of spending an evening with other dentists terrify you?
5.
Do you enjoy being around people of different ages or do you prefer people of a certain age?
6.
Do you tend to make long-term commitments to groups or projects?
6.
Or do you prefer short-term commitments?
7.
What are the rules?
The final decision on this issue belongs only to you.
Types of dream groups
We can give some advice on how dream groups are created. There are different groups. Some include people of one gender, others may be mixed. Some groups are created for artists, others for mothers, philosophers, accountants - for anyone.
Once you decide which group suits you best, also decide whether you want to attend classes in that group full-time or for a short period of time. Typically, newcomers do not seek to enter into long-term relationships. In our experience, groups of four to six people work best. This amount is enough to add pepper to a conversation, but at the same time there are not so many of them to give you room to turn around.
Rules for meeting dream groups
At your first meeting with your group members, discuss the ground rules. It seems to us that three of them are necessary. Set the most important things: meeting times, meeting places, how often you will meet and how long your communication will last. Maintain confidentiality. It is very important that what you discuss in your meetings does not go beyond the boundaries of the group. Only in this case will the group members feel calm and respect each other.
Establish a routine for meetings. For example, will you talk about your dreams in a predetermined order? Or will you address this issue every time at the beginning of the meeting? Will you have some kind of headman (perhaps a person who has already been a member of some dream group) or will you do without a headman completely?
Since you don't want your participation in a dream group to turn into a nightmare, you should remember that talking about your dreams is not an easy task. We seem to be putting ourselves on display, and the last thing we want is to be judged or ridiculed. The best way to protect yourself from such things is to thoroughly understand that you must keep your feelings under control and express your dreams clearly and clearly.
Montague Ullman's teachings on dreams and dream groups
Many dream groups are based on the works of Montague Ullman, a psychoanalyst and author of books on psychoanalysis. As a result of his extensive work on creating dream groups, he found that members of such a group need to be in an atmosphere of trust and mutual interest, it is important for them to feel that they are respected here, that their inner world is protected here, so that they can calmly engage in the study of their dreams.
Dream storytelling technique
1.
The very first stage of a dream story is... the story itself. Don't forget to retell your dream in the present tense.
2.
Often the second stage is asking questions to better clarify the details of the dream. But if you want, you can ask your comrades not to comment on your story at all: perhaps the dream was so upsetting for you that at the moment you are only able to retell it. If you want to discuss it further, ask for questions.
The most correct ones might be: “What kind of boat was it? Sailing? What size? Who else was in it?”
3.
The next step is for the listeners to discuss the dream based on their own experience, but it should be remembered that the purpose of this discussion is to help the given dreamer understand his dream, and not to pull the blanket over himself. As a listener, you can use three definitions of how the dream made you feel (“I felt fear, helplessness, surprise when the boat capsized”). Others might say, “We felt revitalized, excited, and free.” Once the dreamer has heard from everyone in the group, he or she can (if they choose, since they are responsible for their own dream and its narrative) talk about how this discussion helped him or her think about the dream.
6.
Finally, at the beginning of the next meeting, those gathered can tell whether they have stopped thinking about this dream, or whether the previous meeting helped them understand their dream.
Dreams and creativity
Very often dreams encourage creativity - poetry, dancing, painting, sculpting. The fact that we are not even able to hold a candle, say, for Picasso or Dali, stops all our impulses. We are happy if they trust us to paint the fence. But the truth is this: the desire to creatively express oneself is not the prerogative of geniuses alone; creation is also characteristic of us, and this should be fulfilled.
Your dreams are your creative expression, so it is natural that sometimes you want to convey something creatively. It is often difficult to find words to describe your dream. Try drawing a picture of a particularly vivid dream instead of conveying it verbally.
Try to curb the desire to become a critic of your own or someone else’s art, do not teach how to do it, and do not try to treat anyone using this method. Chances are, you are not an art critic, an art teacher, or a doctor. And yet this does not mean at all that you should not pay attention to the creativity of other dreamers. Respond to people’s aspirations, listen to the emotions that their drawing or sculpture awakens in you.
For the same reason, do not shower the dreamer-artist with praise. This may make other members of the group want to join in the competition. Also, remember that the piece shown to you is an expression of a dream. And since we cannot classify dreams as good or bad, we similarly should not judge the works that these dreams inspire.
If you are presenting poetry, for example, then try to talk about how much it helped you. Maybe the dream was very disturbing, and writing poetry about it made you feel calm. Perhaps peace came later when you read your poems to the group members.
Role Playing: Bringing Your Dreams to Life
If a group puts on a dream play, this not only makes it possible to bring your dream to life, but also allows you to change or expand the content of the dream. At the same time, there is hope that your problems will become clearer and solvable for you. The dreamer is the director himself, but is also an actor-performer.
In the 1920s, Jacob Lovie Moreno practiced a form of therapy called "psychodrama." He developed it as a way by which we recognize and change our “life script” and unconsciously play it out again. Moreno concentrated his efforts on ensuring that the dreamer transferred roles in the dream to other people and acted out the dream. This form of therapy has had many critics because it can bring out strong emotions that are unsafe for group members. And yet, if used carefully, only as a game, this form of exercise is very informative.
However, remember that your group is not patients engaged in psychodrama, but researchers. Therefore, you can frolic, but be able to stop events if you yourself or one of the group members begins to experience discomfort. Perhaps such an exercise will cause new emotions in you, and it would be better to discuss them with a psychiatrist. It is better to discuss especially disturbing and difficult dreams with your doctor, rather than role-playing them.
In order to act out your dream, you should tell it to the group members, paying special attention to details and characters - because you need to captivate the future performers! The interlocutors - the “actors” - must clarify the dream, but not express personal judgment or interpretation. Their goal is to empathize with your experiences during sleep and to properly perform their roles.
You can either assign roles yourself, or call those who want to. You don't have to limit the cast to only human or animal roles. In the short dream we told as an example, you can find someone to play the role of the wind! Oh - this person will decide for himself how to play this role (of course, under your wise leadership): as a ruthless element, playful energy or a saving force.
Often the dreamer will stop the actors in the middle of the action to try to take a fresh look at the motivation of the characters’ actions. It can be interesting to assign someone (one or more people) to the role of “assistant”. An assistant can come to the aid of the director and become his mouthpiece.
For example, in the capsizing boat dream we talked about above, the dreamer is allowed to ask the assistant how to change the action so that she cools down without capsizing the boat. The following proposal may come: the people in the boat will direct it north, to cooler waters. The assistant's admission will completely change the end of the dream.
This suspension of action and play with the dream will bring out all the aspects of the dreamer's personality encoded in the various characters and symbols of the dream, and it will be easier for her to recognize and acknowledge parts of herself or inner conflicts of which she is unaware.
Exercises for your dream group
Just as you chose the actors for your dream, you can ask them to help you draw your dream. Why not depict someone's dream directly on the wall? Or have each person in the group capture their dream on the wall. Draw bright cards with different words, for example: mother, blue, open car. Ask your group members to freely associate with these cards. Maybe this will help a person remember a recent dream.
If you don't feel like retelling your dreams or drawing them, try something else. Dare to write lyrical poems (and someone from the group will select music for them), or a poem, or a comic poem. Write poems and set them to music from The Beverly Hillbillies.
Games for the dreaming group
Is your group feeling discouraged? Suffering from lack of dreams? Can't understand what the yellow cup symbolizes? Then, she needs an infusion, which is contained in such a game.
Have each group member write a script on a piece of paper. First, you should choose simple and unambiguous scenarios. Later you can write more complex, or stupid, or strange compositions. Next, you need to put the leaves in a bag or vase - and let everyone take out a leaf (preferably so that you don’t get your own). Create your dream according to someone else's scenario. Let others guess which scenario is yours.
Here are some script ideas.
1.
A package arrives for you.
2.
Your dog can talk.
3.
An elderly couple walks in front of you and does not allow you to pass, although you have a small child in your arms.
4.
You see 20 people dancing on the moon with your mother.
5.
A cow climbed onto the roof of the Empire State Building.
In sentence 1, group members can add some details: what the package looked like, what it smelled like, what was in it. Some might add that she arrived in the middle of the night and he was amazed by it. Someone might attribute a metaphorical meaning to the small package: “There’s always a little of the good stuff.” We hope that at the end of this game the creative stimulation will stimulate the ability to recall dreams.

What dreams should you not talk about?
In Islam, bad dreams refer to dreams sent by Shaitan (the devil). It is not difficult to distinguish such a dream from an ordinary one - you experienced fear and anxiety even after you woke up. The purpose of Satan, according to Muslims, is to instill doubt and fear in the heart of a believer. It is for this reason that spiritual mentors in Islam recommend not to tell anyone at all about such a dream - neither relatives, nor friends, nor spouse. Instead, it is better to ask for help and protection from the Almighty.
In Christianity, on the contrary, dreams belong to that forbidden category to which ordinary laymen are forbidden to attach any meaning. The Orthodox Church, in particular, has a very negative attitude toward remembering dreams, interpreting them, and telling stories about them. Christian priests recommend forgetting dreams immediately after waking up. Therefore, if you are a believing Christian, then according to the precepts of the church it is better to refuse stories about dreams in general.
Dream interpreters, on the contrary, advise taking into account all vivid dreams. But if you decide to interpret a dream and find a warning or prediction in it, then you should keep it with you. Dream books assure that if you tell the contents of the dream to anyone else, then all the events predicted by it will go awry, and the warning will lose all meaning.
Now you know what measures can be taken so that the nightmare does not come true and stops terrorizing you, and a good dream comes true. There is nothing complicated or supernatural in these tips.

Types of dreams
It is very rare that a person can see some unambiguous plot during a night's rest. Most often he remembers fragmentary pictures. Even if it is difficult to unambiguously interpret the details, this does not mean that the dream is meaningless. It is necessary to remember the sensations from it, associations, feelings. If a dream causes negativity, then you should not tell it to anyone . You must first think about and analyze everything yourself.
Strange visions can leave behind pleasant impressions. At a subconscious level, a person will feel peace and tranquility. In this case, you don’t have to be afraid of bad incidents in life. In the near future, we should expect successful resolution of problems and unexpected surprises.
You can't always tell good dreams. You cannot do this if what you see foreshadows the outcome of some matter. For example, a person saw how a controversial case was resolved in his favor. He rushes to tell his loved ones about the plot, and as a result, the likelihood of such an outcome changes. Mystical powers do not like it when anyone treats them lightly.
In order to understand whether it is possible to tell bad dreams, you need to analyze all the details of what you saw . For example, in the center of what is happening is the sleeper himself, and he finds himself in an awkward position. If he has a date and the day before he sees how he will disgrace himself, then he cannot mention it in real life. Otherwise it will come true and repeat itself in reality.
Some signs
People have different beliefs. It is believed that if a person has dreamed of something good, then he needs to tell about it before lunch. This method, according to esotericists, made it possible to convey one’s wishes to mystical forces. In magic, there are separate techniques called “visualization.” When people need certain events and specific outcomes, they need to carefully imagine them and say all the details out loud.
Magicians have always believed that at a certain time it is highly likely to have a prophetic dream:
What you see during this period will most likely come true. In order to increase the likelihood of this event, you need to tell a relative about the dream. It is important not to share information with a superficial acquaintance or a dubious person. Otherwise it will turn into trouble.
Separately, esotericists highlight the period from three o'clock in the morning to five in the morning - at this time the night gives way to dawn, and the two worlds collide with each other . Dreams that are seen at this time are highly likely to come true.
