Do dreams even have meaning?

Allah mentioned the name of only one prophet in the Koran, whom He taught to interpret dreams and understand their meaning - the prophet Yusuf (peace be upon him). Once a companion of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) named Ubadah bin al-Samit (may Allah be pleased with him) asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) to explain the meaning of the words of Allah in the Quran: “ Good news awaits the believers in this world and the next.. ." Another hadith, narrated by Abu Hurayrah, says: “Nothing remains from the prophecy except those that augur well. Sources of dreams

There are three sources of dreams:

1. A dream from Allah.

2. Dreams from Satan.

3. Thoughts and imagination (hadith-n-nafs)

A dream from Allah, or a “prophetic dream”

A dream whose source is Allah can be true, such a dream always makes sense and comes true. The dreams of the prophets always make sense and come true, therefore they are either a revelation (wahyu) or an inspiration (ilham) from the Almighty. The dreams of the righteous are also often prophetic, especially closer to the Day of Judgment. A dream from Satan

As a rule, dreams the source of which is the shaitan are frightening, instilling anxiety, sadness and doubts in a person. How to minimize dreams from Satan?

To protect yourself from dreams from Shaitan and physical evil from him, you need to go to bed with obligatory ablution or renewing it, if necessary. Also, every night it is very advisable to close your hands as during dua and read “muawwizatayn” (surahs “al-Falyak” and “al-Nas”), surah “al-Ikhlyas” (kulhu) and verse “al-Kursi” on them. (verse 255 of Surah al-Baqarah), and then run your palms over your entire body. It is very important not to go to bed without reading the Koran and prayers (azkars, virds). If a person is destined to die in his sleep, he will die remembering Allah. The third source of dreams is his thoughts and imagination. Quite often, a person dreams of what he does, what he talks about, thinks a lot about... Dream books and Islamic dream books

Today, on the shelves of bookstores you can easily find so-called dream books, and there are also supposedly Islamic dream books. I can definitely say that there is no benefit from these dream books, including the so-called “Islamic” ones! Therefore, you should not buy them and generally waste time reading them. They are useless because, at best, they are made up of fragments of stories in which certain righteous people and sages interpreted the dreams of people who turned to them and who had a particular dream. Once again I want to draw your attention to the fact that dream books are compiled in this way at best, but in other cases they are simply invented for the sake of the desire to make money by selling them.

So, for example, one day a certain man came to Ibn Sirin (may Allah have mercy on him) and said that he saw himself calling (to prayer) in a dream. Ibn Sirin (may Allah have mercy on him) interpreted his dream to mean that he would make the Hajj [pilgrimage to Mecca] in the near future. However, when another person came to Ibn Sirin (may Allah have mercy on him) and told him about the same dream, Ibn Sirin (may Allah have mercy on him) declared that he was a thief! The first one's dream was interpreted in this way because he was a righteous man. Allah said in the Koran: (meaning) “And call, O Ibrahim, people to Hajj...” (Sura al-Hajj, verse 27).

وَأَذِّنْ النَّاسِ بِالْحَجِّ

When a person has a wonderful dream, he should not tell it. You can tell an alim or a good and honest person who loves you and wants only the best for you, and who can give you good advice. For the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “ A dream is tied to the foot of a bird until the one who dreamed it tells it. And when he tells it to another, it will fall (that is, it may not come true). And do not tell your dream to anyone except the Alim, a sincere adviser, smart and insightful. A good dream is 1/46th of the prophecy ” (“Jamiul-Ahadith”, No. 12813).

Fish in a dream

Taking fire with your hands in a dream and not causing yourself any harm means that your enemies will be powerless to harm you in any way. If you dream that you had difficulty starting a fire, but it soon went out, then expect misfortune in the family. Burning something in a dream means new acquaintances and changes. Also, such a dream means that some part of your life has ended and there will be no return to the old way.

Fighting fire in a dream is a harbinger that you will have to spend a lot of effort on a task that is unlikely to bring much return. Seeing the bright, dazzling shine of fire in a dream means that the wrath of a powerful person will fall on you. A big fire in a dream foretells good luck for people in creative professions and those who often go on business trips.

Seeing a huge flame in a dream is a sign of great misfortune; it also means military action, despair, need, hunger, and disaster. It’s even worse to dream that a huge flame moves across the sky or appears in different places, while watching which side it appears from or in which place.
